Shire Twins

A 6-year-old Shire mare named James Valley Rhapsody, owned by Terri Goodwin of Tallahassee, Florida, had a filly (Shenley Creek Felicity) and a colt (Shenley Creek Sebastian) on April 9, 2001. They are shown here at four days old.

The sire was an Arabian-Paint cross. Both babies are Tobiano—the colt and black and white, the filly bay and white with a dorsal stripe. The filly is about one hand shorter than her brother.

Terri Goodwin would enjoy hearing from anyone else having live Shire twins. If your draft mare of any breed has twins, please send the details to info@ruralheritage.com for inclusion on this site.
