Enrollment Application
Requirements There are no
educational requirements that a perspective student must meet in order to attend
HHS. The student must be physically able to do forge-work, as well as work on
customer horses. This means that a student must be old enough to have the
necessary physical strength, or have the drive and ambition to overcome any
handicaps that may hinder their ability to perform the required tasks. There are
no physical tests which can accurately determine an individuals ability to be a
farrier. Doing the job for the first time is extremely difficult for even the
strongest people. You will quickly develop the stamina and strength needed. Any
student who is not yet 18, will be allowed to enroll after a personal interview
with HHS staff, and permission of a legal guardian. Return

Financial Aid and
Payment Policy Payment in full is expected on the first day of class
unless other arrangements have been made prior to starting the course. This
payment policy will not hold to students who are receiving financial aid, since
the payments may be made by the governing agency at a later date.
Heartland
Horseshoeing School is currently approved by the Veterans Administration,
Vocational Rehabilitation, and Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). If you
qualify for these programs, you must seek out the appropriate agency in your
area to begin the necessary paperwork. We generally work directly with the
different agencies, and will be more than happy to assist in any way needed. Return to top of page
Application
Procedure
On this site you will find a Class Schedule
and an Enrollment Application. Once you
have decided on which course you would like to attend, find out which
dates it is offered. Print the Enrollment Application, fill it out,
and send it with a check for $250.00. This is the application fee, and
it is not counted towards your tuition. Upon receipt of your application,
we will send 2 copies of an enrollment agreement. Sign both of them,
keep one for your personal records, and send on back to HHS at least
1 week prior to your start date. You will then be enrolled.
On
the first day of class, you will be given a thorough orientation of the schools¹
policies and procedures. Upon completion of the orientation, theyoull be given a
forge demonstration of your first project, and commence making friends with your
hammer. Congratulations on selecting Heartland Horseshoeing School. Return to top of page
