Global Warming Hoax

Here we go. House just passed the Carbon Tax bill. So much for not taxing 95% of Americans, so much for creating jobs, so much for fixing the economy. They're saying Agriculture will be among the hardest hit.
What srikes me the hardest is the Congress people and lobbyists and ex-vice presidents are the very people set to gain the most money from it and nobody cares. Is everyone that complacent?
And what about the little man? You know the one's the Messiah was going to raise up from poverty? You know the one that got the 8 dollar a week tax break form Emperor Obama. The one that loses it with this new scam being shoved down our throats. What will he do when his job is sent over seas and his utility bills quadrupil?
Guess we'll all revert back to our grandparent's standard of living. Government doesn't tax well water, or outhouses yet. Bet they'll try taxing us for our emission.
I've heard there going to tax farmers if they plow instead of no-till.
China and India have both said to heck with emission standards. Last time I heard China was only a fifth the size of our economy and polluted more than us. So, why is our Government cutting our veins and bleeding us out? Oh yea, Obama was elected so that gave a mandate to do as they damn well please.
No need to feel left out. If there isn't an Obama Plan impacting your daily lives yet, there soon will be. I think his campaign slogan for 2012 should be Allah Acba
How could so many be so blind?
Response by Bob L at 2009-06-27 11:56:23
Lets hope it fails in the Senate.
I am having a difficult time accepting how fast all the new changes are being rushed through without consideration.
Before anyone realizes how bad the changes are it will be to late to reverse an out of control government.

Please provide some facts to back your claims other then "they" say. Who is they? They expert? Also, give back your farm subsidy if you don't like government interfering in your life. Farmers, more than any other group of individuals has benefitted from government dollars
Response by Wes Lupher at 2009-06-27 17:09:00
I keep hearing about these 'farm subsidies'. Please tell me what they are so I can get some.
I can't see how higher energy costs are going to help anyone.
All you have to do is turn on the news to hear about our spend happy government. Seems like every week you hear about more trillions of dollars needed for this or that program. Trillions. BIG number.
Where will it come from? Will we borrow more from China? All of this money has to be paid back some time, some how.
I just hope this administration and congress doesn't think it's Monopoly money.
Response by john at 2009-06-27 17:43:16
Dear Mr. Baseless,
NO FARMERS NO FOOD stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
Response by Kate V at 2009-06-27 19:02:55
With any luck at all, it won't make it through the Senate. From all that I have read (Wall Street Journal) and heard (Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz, Newt Gengrich) This will not be a good thing for this country. Yes, it will be "Change" alright.
Response by Kate V at 2009-06-27 19:07:12
For Baseless...I am a farmer, small-time, I recieve NO subsidies. I work on a much bigger farm, NO subsidies, however they are regulated out the wazoo as most of us soon will be. Please do not paint with such a broad brush. Not ALL farmers recieve subsidies. The facts can be found on Gov't web-sites. Which ones, at this time I don't know the exact sites, but the info is there.

Dear Clueless Rank and File. Just go to heritagefoundation.org and read!
Beware, it ain't your Ol' Obama network, so you might just get ej-i-ma-kat-ed to a few things.

Todd, I think too many people are so wrapped up in idealogy that they don't seem to comprehend what it is they are supporting. I can't believe how many people are saying they did not realize Obama was going to do this or that. So far with just a few exceptions, he has been a man of his word. He has spent more money than this country can ever pay back and he has sentenced us to horrific energy taxes. What he has not delivered is transparency. He is anything but.

What is amazing to me is this tax is going to be on coal, petroleum, and who knows what else will be added if it does get passed.I cannot beleive people think that if this passes everything is not going to go up in price from food to electricity to fuel for our vehicles. Baseless maybe you will be happy when you have to start getting your food from China,India or some other country, does that make any sense when they cant even make safe toys.We also run a small farm and get nothing from the goverment!!So maybe before you get on here accusing people of taking money maybe you should do some checking yourself!!Farmers also take more risk than anybody else also, who else will spend money in the spring to put out a crop with out knowing whether or not they will be able to break even let alone make any profit all so YOU CAN EAT!!
Response by Hal Novak at 2009-06-27 23:44:55
Yeah Baseless, [appropriate name BTW] we can get all the food we need from Mexico, Canada, and China. I s'pose you're one of those that believe that the cattleman gets free grass from the BLM and NFS. Grazing fees are what pays for parks and campgrounds. Have you noticed that many campgrounds are closed or charge fees? You can blame that on the reduction in allotments aimed at putting the cowman out of business.

To say all farmers get more than any other group benefitted from government dollars, I would say your wrong. Folks on welfair get the most
"Welfare (financial aid), financial assistance paid by taxpayers to people who are unable or unwilling to support themselves"

Our goverment is already out of control, totally. Yes this country should be proud of all our elected moron clowns.

IF the estimate are correct your electricity bill will triple inside 2 years. That takes me from around $300.00 a month to $900.00 a month. It'll take my dairy farmer neighbor (no subsidies for him either) from $1300.00 a month to $3900.00 a month. It'll take the big guy milking 1100 head from $3500.00 to over $10K a month!!!! And they'll do this on $11.00 milk? Everything follows fuel prices- look at last years high fuel and the resultant costs. Add that to our gov't "borrow and hope" economic policy and the inflation prospects boggle the mind.
I don;t see how anyone can support this that looks into it at all. Perhaps an anarchist intent of destroying the USA can go for it, but beyond that all it's doing is killing us. And it's all based on a theory already proved wrong!

In the mid 80's, my wifes family often had friends from Germany visit for a month at a time. During this time we helped with the bar-b-ques and fishing trips, etc. After one such event while sitting around a camp fire the discussion turned to the old days. As it turned out several of the guest had been prisoners in Nazi prison camps during WW2, with tatoos to prove it! As a history buff I listen to thier stories thru my Father-in-law as an interpeter. Stories I had only read about in books of lost and murdered families, escapes and hardships of War. One elderly woman named Tilly had escaped from a death camp with her brother while the rest of her family perished. In discussing what had led to all this political takeover of Germany one guest from here asked Tilly "Why didn't the people do something about it?" To which Tilly replied, "They thought it was just politic's as usual, until it was too late."
Response by Virginia Gal at 2009-06-28 11:28:29
Baseless - You need a bit more research before making such a blanket statement about subsidies. Also, there is a difference between factory farming and the small farmers in this forum.
Response by Allan at 2009-06-28 14:09:56
Baseless check your facts. Working farmers aren't getting much if any handouts. A few took the creps programs on there stream banks and wetlands to get some money to fence them out and help to clean up the water tables, but most of the other subsidies are going to "gentlemen farmers" and I use that loosely as most have never farmed they are business men investing in huge amounts land and using taxpayers money to keep themselves solvent till they can sell to builders or other investors.

regardless of how anyone feels about global warming it is a know fact that the atmosphere is clogged with trash of all kinds and must be cleaned up if we are to survive..we must start here in the u.s. with the immediate air that we breath..while people whine that china and india are not trying to clean up so we won't unless they do..that is maddness..if the people want to change things prevent u.s. corporation from outsourceing..until people learn to controll their greed and start thinking of survival nothing will change and we are doomed..i have difficulty finding merchandise made in the u.s. levi..our orginal invention..the jean..is no longer made in america..very few shoes are it goe on and on..we are witnessing the early death throes of a nation..
Response by ToddW at 2009-06-28 17:35:07
Grady, whining about outsourcing jobs overseas and in the same breath say we need to tax our domestic business to death because Al Gore says so, is same as shooting the cow cause the Pepsiman said to, then whining cause there ain't no milk!
I agree the air has become polluted however taxing carbon emissions in a world of carbon based lifeforms is ridiculous. You realize you could be taxed for the carbon your body releases when you die? For the breath you exhale?
Sorry Grady but you need to do some more studying on the amount of pollutants released by the US in comparison to China. Trying to control the climate is equivalent to peeing in a tornado, a stupid idea from the start!
Response by JWM at 2009-06-28 21:52:02
Grady taxing carbon emmissions does not necessarily address toxic polutants. Carbon dioxide actually promotes plant growth. The problem with the green house gas approach is that much energy and money will be spent controlling those things which are truly not harmful, while missing those things that are indeed very important. its called unintended consequences and taxing CO2 is full of unintended consequences.

this is from a friend in NE colorado--
"Here in our valley there is a tax on well water due to a lawsuit of 89 years duration that gave the local indian tribe rights to due so. Even beat us with our own money as the Bureau of Indian affairs, a federal agency, was the "helper" for them."
New Zealand, Austrailia and Mexico are looking better
Response by Eric at 2009-06-29 14:07:48
I dont see why any dem.s would complain we all see it coming."tax and spend"
Response by Kate V at 2009-06-29 16:54:47
Grady, while i may disagree with you on some political issues, I DO agree with you the our 'air' and waters are way more polluted than they used to be. I notice the difference in air and water quality from when I was a kid, (many years ago) to now. I also am not a big fan of 'light' pollution. My husband and I do our part, in/on our little piece of the planet to keep the pollution to a minimum. I hate to see a black/gray haze that is not humidity.
However, this carbon emissions thing is just a big load of poop in my opinion.
Response by Alan at 2009-06-29 22:16:02
So did anybody hear what they also put into the Bill at the last minute,if this gets passed they are going to make anyone who sales a home have a FEDERAL inspector come into your home and check everything to see how energy efficient everything is.This is going include everything from appliances to windows and doors to water heaters to checking how much insulation is in the house. If its not up to specs it is the homeowners responsibility to upgrade before the home can be sold. So that should really help the real estate market, with home prices already at the low they are at.This was on the Glen Beck show on FOX if anybody needs to check it out.I don't know how this applies to new homes but I don't think it will be any different whether it's new or old they are still going to have their hands in it to.
Response by Todd W at 2009-06-30 07:34:25
This entire bill is designed to be as invasive as possible into our daily lives. King Obama wants the government to be able to control everything because we are to stupid to take care of ourselves.
That is the basis for all his policies, just open your eyes and look at it from that perspective and see for yourselves. From gun & ammo control to Animal ID to banking to cars to what kind of energy and how much you use. It's one big power grab under the guise of cleaning up the environment. And don't forget with Sotomayor it'll be race control dictated by the Supreme Court.
REMEMBER folks while everyone watchs the right hand he's doing really bad crap with the left one.......

Actually Janet, the amandment to the bill that Allen was talking about was added into and passed before it was even written....now howz that for stupid, idiotic and irresponsible!!!!!!! Hell it coulda been written into anything...even Waller's place being condemned and turned into a summer retreat for the King himself! he he he
Their stupidity is so frustrating
Response by Alan at 2009-06-30 18:48:41
YES it is on both sides and I don't care to say that, but some people just don't seem to care what happens if their party is in control. These people in Washington are just stupid, and it is so frustrating to see how blind some people are.
Response by hammerhead at 2009-06-30 23:37:24
To you Obama-bashers, the democrats are known for 'tax and spend' it's true. But the last republican president we had was famous for 'spend, spend, spend, and let the next sucker clean up the mess'. Whoever thinks he can do a better job, why didn't you run? I might have voted for you if you aren't an oil man or a lawyer.
ed
Response by JWM at 2009-07-01 12:43:46
hammerhead, the last ?? years of presidents have been coming out of the same pot be they republican or democrat. The reason the republican party is in so much flux is because there are no candidates that represent the fiscally conservative pov any more. I don't think many of them even know what fiscally conservative means.
This is no longer an issue about republican vs democrat, but it is about people who control the money running this country. The president is just a pawn, be the name Bush, Obama, Clinton etc. Obama is just the slickest of them all and is the best at carrying out the plan of the real power and doing so in a way that is very deceptive.
janet
Response by Todd W at 2009-07-01 18:02:38
Janet I disagree. He's not really being deceptive at all. He has said what he would do for years. He showed us who he really is by his associations with terrorists and racist preachers. He is what he always was...people are just do apathetic to care till it hits'em upside the head. We'll all pay for sooner than later......
